Void Engine is the 3D rebuild of Kuro Kishi. Its Watch Mode flies the ship for you, and the old pilot was a potential field: obstacles pushed it away, targets pulled it in. Today it was replaced with something that looks ahead.
How the new pilot flies
Every frame it predicts the next second of the fight. That covers bullets (including delayed shots, homing allowance and bubble pops), enemy bodies, hazard rocks, capital and boss hulls, locked strikes, expanding novas and the singularity pull. It then beam-searches the ship's movement in 0.05-second steps across 12 headings plus staying still, using the real hitbox with a safety margin.
It lines up with the best target for the weapon it is carrying, holds the charge shot to full, and fires it when a target worth the charge is in the beam. It spends capsules by build value: speed 2, homing missile, one primary, options, orb, shield. It reads only the state a player sees and changes no rules. It costs about 2 ms per frame.
A potential field only reacts to what is near. Predicting a second ahead means a locked strike or a still-expanding nova is already part of the picture before it lands.
What it does
There is no god mode and no forced boss damage in the benchmark. That is the point of it: earlier regression runs forced damage on bosses, which proves the campaign progresses but not that it can be played.
| run | result |
|---|---|
| Full campaign, carrying powers | All eight stages cleared, zero deaths, one hit taken in total. Boss kills between 8 and 27 seconds. |
| Fresh, no powers | Every stage cleared. Kestrel stages 3 to 8 and Wraith stages 1 to 8 finished with no deaths and one hit across all of them. |
One fresh run died in a corner on stage 5. The pilot had treated walls too mildly, so it now penalises walls and corners more heavily. After that change stage 5 came back clean three runs in a row.
Two bugs the audit found
An audit of every enemy pattern against the original spec turned up two things that read as small and were not.
- One of the robot enemies fired periodic volleys on top of its single rush shot. The spec calls for one shot at the rush.
- Boss phase labels were offset for any boss whose list of names matched its list of thresholds. The first phase said PHASE 2, and one boss's phase callouts never played at all.
The second is the kind of bug a list mismatch hides well. Nothing crashed and nothing looked wrong in a screenshot. A line of text simply never appeared.
