The Serpent grows to about 10 ft
His standing height goes from about 237 cm to 305 cm (scale 1.3 to 1.676). His reach, lunge, slam and extra-reach distances, the serpents, the camera framing and the test bot's range checks all follow one size constant. His hit points, poise, damage, telegraph timing and phase values are exactly as before, and nothing else in the game scales.
There is a side effect. His walk speed is unchanged while his reach is 1.29 times longer, so he should feel slightly less aggressive. That follows the decision that he must not get stronger.
Remapping and gamepad feel
The Controls page is now a remap screen for keyboard and gamepad, with swap-on-clash, reset rows, and overrides saved in their own slot so the Low-by-default rule is untouched. The old gamepad setup had an effective stick dead zone of about 0.34. It is now 0.20 for movement and 0.18 for the camera, a gentle push walks and a full push runs, and one stick flick switches the lock-on target once.
A roll audit against a comparable action game found ours tighter: 0.30 s of invulnerability against 0.43 s, and 22 stamina against 12. Those numbers were left alone pending a decision.
Room audio
Every room in the Church (15) and the Crypt (7) now has its own reverb and its own ambient one-shots: drips, creaks, wind through the nave, chains in the Chain Hall, moans in the cells, crows in the yard. Eleven new sounds are synthesised in code, and a 14-bus mix table with 19 ducking rules replaces mix assets that were never used. The estimated cost on Low is under 0.001 ms per frame plus about 1 percent of one core for the reverb, an estimate and not a measurement.
The audio stage finished with 0 errors across 141 cues, the boss data and animation stages imported 230 definitions and 39 clips with 0 errors, and the Church still reports 43 of 43 interactables reachable.
A bug caught in review
The boss camera framing and the lock-on pull-back both wrote the camera arm length every frame. Run together, they would have fought each other, each undoing the other's value. One system now owns that number.
