MPOWER RACING
A browser racing game built around M-series performance cars and real circuits
About
Mpower Racing runs in the browser and is built around M-series performance cars and factory works race cars. The roster is 130 cars: every production M model from the 1972 3.0 CSL to the 2025 M5 Touring, 27 works race cars, and a few related cars. The E46 M3 is the car to drive first. It is a fan project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any car maker.
The circuits are Laguna Seca, NCM Motorsports Park in Kentucky (three layouts) and the Nürburgring, with the Nordschleife, the Grand Prix circuit and the two combined. Each track is built from OpenStreetMap centrelines and public elevation data, so layouts and hills follow the real ground. The Nordschleife comes out at 20,776 m against the official 20,832 m.
You can run a Quick Race, chase a ghost in Time Trial, or watch an all-AI race and bet play money on it in Watch & Bet. The Custom Shop lets you change a car's parts, and the Build Journal saves your builds. The game also runs on phones and tablets.

How far along
Playable build, 51 out of 100, ranked 12 of 17 on the progress ranking.
A published browser racing game with 130 cars, three circuits and several race modes, where the AI still laps slower than published times and wheel support is untested on hardware.
- Playable6/10
The game is live as a browser build with Quick Race, Time Trial and Watch & Bet running on desktop and on phones and tablets.
- Core gameplay5/10
The AI laps the Nordschleife 10 to 23 percent slower than published times with the G80 gap left in as a known traction cap, and the launch test reaches 100 km/h in 5.76 s.
- Content4/10
The roster of 130 cars and seven layouts at three circuits are in, while the track plan marks only its first two phases done with 16 more circuits and a drag strip still planned.
- Art and audio5/10
Engine audio is synthesised and two of the four real engine clips tried were judged worse than the synthesised sound and not shipped.
- Stability5/10
Pre-release checks passed including 84 wheel tests and a 130-car outlier check, but Nordschleife GPU time was 18 to 48 ms per frame on an integrated GPU and wheels have not been tried on real hardware.
- Release readiness5/10
A public build went live on a Cloudflare Workers site on 2026-10-01 and the README carries a fan-project disclaimer.
Assessed Oct 4, 2026. Based on some documentation and posts. This is the studio’s own assessment and it changes as the game does.
Updates
Twenty kilometres of Nordschleife
The Nürburgring Nordschleife, built from map data to within 56 metres of its official length. The AI laps it 10 to 23 percent slower than published times, a tree pass took 20 ms to 1-2 ms, and a stray newline in a shader string stopped the build.
A real track, and a real GPU timer
The first working session of Mpower Racing, a browser racing game. Laguna Seca built from surveyed data, a roster of 124 cars, and a rule that performance work follows measured GPU time, not guesses.
