ECHO RIDGE
A modern town stuck in a loop, and something there remembers you
About
Echo Ridge is a modern supernatural mystery set in one town that keeps repeating. Every road leads back to the same place, and something in it remembers you. The story is meant to be pieced together by paying attention, so this page does not explain it.
What you do matters, and not always in the way you meant. Kind choices and cruel ones can both set off chains of consequences that spiral past what you planned, and the game is built around that.
It is drawn as a pixel-art town with a day and night cycle, weather and seasons, residents who move through their routines, and interiors you can walk into. The game is being built in Unity for PC.
What is in it
- A single modern town you come to know across repeated days
- Choices with consequences that can spiral, whether well meant or not
- Residents who walk the town and can be spoken to
- Pixel-art look with day and night, rain, fog and seasonal change
- Buildings you can enter, with their own lit interiors
- A High and Low graphics setting

How far along
Vertical slice, 37 out of 100, ranked 15 of 17 on the progress ranking.
The first part of the story is built and runs in a Unity version of the pixel-art town, with faster night and weather drawing and a regraded look that has yet to be run, and the later parts are not yet made.
- Playable4/10
A Windows player build was made on 2026-09-07 and a scripted playthrough passes 17 of 17 steps, but no public build exists.
- Core gameplay3/10
Resident routines, dialogue and a consequence system exist, but the player's verbs are limited to interact, notes, map, phone and pause.
- Content3/10
The first part of the story is built and playable in the Unity version, and the later parts were not yet built at the last story audit.
- Art and audio4/10
The pixel-art town renders day and night, weather and seasons and matches the original browser build on 59.629 percent of pixels across 78 shots, and a regraded late-afternoon look was written but has not been compiled, and audio has not been ported.
- Stability6/10
The Unity port compiles, all 931 editor tests and both play-mode tests pass, and night lighting frame time fell from 186 ms to 114 ms in fog with byte-identical output, though the latest look changes and about 90 new tests have not been run.
- Release readiness3/10
Only internal builds exist and no public build is deployed.
Assessed Oct 16, 2026. Based on some documentation and posts. This is the studio’s own assessment and it changes as the game does.
Updates
The town now looks like what it is about
Echo Ridge's daylight town read like a cosy farming game, so it was regraded toward a tense late afternoon with colour draining out toward the west. It was written and reviewed by reading only, and nothing from it has been compiled or run.
Night and weather draw faster, and a score dip that was walk speed
Night lighting and weather were the slowest parts of a frame in the Unity port, and both were sped up without changing a single pixel. A 1.6 point drop in the match score turned out to be the comparison, not the drawing.
A score that fell because it got more honest
The Unity port of Echo Ridge is code-complete, with 77 of 77 modules mapped. Measuring how closely it matches the original is the harder half, and the most useful numbers so far were the ones that went down.
The town found its name
Echo Ridge locks its modern identity while the failed-town loop, moral paths, and alternate-device structure continue to expand.
Consequences can spiral
Interaction outcomes are being designed so good intentions and bad intentions can both trigger unexpected chain reactions.
